The Communications Coach is responsible for developing and implementing programs and initiatives to improve the communication skills of all employees, with a focus on those who work directly with English-speaking clients. This includes both written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of communication theory and practice, as well as experience in training and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training programs: Develop and deliver training programs on a variety of communication skills, including active listening, public speaking, writing, nonverbal communication, intercultural communication, and business writing.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching to employees on their communication skills, identifying areas for improvement and providing strategies for improvement.
  • Conduct needs assessments: Conduct needs assessments to identify areas where communication skills training is needed. This may involve surveying employees, interviewing managers, or reviewing performance reviews.
  • Track the effectiveness of training programs: Track the effectiveness of communication skills training programs by collecting data on participant satisfaction, knowledge gains, and behaviour changes.
  • Collaborate with other departments: Collaborate with other departments to ensure that communication skills are integrated into all aspects of the organization, such as employee onboarding, performance reviews, and customer service training.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and events: Represent the organization at conferences and events on communication, sharing best practices and promoting the organization’s commitment to communication excellence.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, education, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of communication theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of different communication styles.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • 3+ years of experience in training and development, preferably in a communication-related field.
  • Experience in delivering training programs to adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing training programs.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience working with English-speaking clients.
